Man with Pistol Stops Burglar Stealing His Shotgun

On January 10, 2013 in Decatur, GA, a man was coming home in the afternoon to find a burglar crawling out of his window with his shotgun in his hand. The man pulled out his legal concealed handgun, pointed it at the burglar, and ordered him to drop the shotgun. The burglar instead jumped back through the window and into the house. The homeowner pursued him inside, cornering him again and demanded that he drop the shotgun. The burglar complied and the homeowner picked it up and dialed 911. As the man summoned police, the burglar charged at him. Fearing for his safety, the homeowner fired one round, hitting the burglar in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The homeowner was not hurt in the incident and he was able to recover his property.
