On January 22, 2013 in Cairo, KY, a homeowner returned home from his night shift and noticed a door in his house that is usually closed was open. When he looked in, he found a burglar in his home. He ran to his bedroom and grabbed his shotgun and turned around to see the burglar coming out of his daughter's room. He fired one shot at him and missed, but the burglar quickly fled the scene, escaping in his getaway car outside.
The homeowner told the news, "I don't know if he was armed or not. Had he been armed and I wasn't armed, I think it would have turned out a lot different."
He's probably right.
