On January 22, 2013 around 4:30 am in Jeffersonville, IN, a homeowner received an interesting call from his ex-wife. Apparently, she needed a place to crash and the homeowner was allowing her to stay in the shed in his back yard. While she was sleeping inside, two men began banging on the door of the shed trying to get in. Apparently, they had been on a robbery spree throughout the night and had chosen this particular shed as their next target.

The homeowner's ex-wife called him from inside the shed to tell him what was happening and he grabbed his handgun, running onto his back porch, fired a warning shot, and ordered them burglars to the ground. One man complied while another quickly jumped the fence and tried to threaten the homeowner to let his buddy go or he'd shoot the homeowner. The homeowner called his bluff, however, and kept the burglar on the ground at gunpoint while the homeowner's fiance called 911. Police arrived and arrested Brandon Barnett, charging him with seven separate charges from his crime spree.

No one was injured in the altercation and the homeowner will not face any charges. The best line of this story was the last one: "Burglars should be aware it's getting dangerous to commit a crime as many more homeowners are now armed."
