On November 22, 2010 around 8:50 pm in Knoxville, TN, two armed men, partially masked, broke into the home of Jamie Franklin and her husband, first demanding drugs, and then money. As her husband struggled with the attackers, one of them shot him while Jamie, 21, retrieved her .357 revolver. She returned and shot Joshua Dexter Watson, 24, causing his accomplice to quickly flee. Watson died that night. Her husband was treated and was not seriously injured.
Watson had a long history of arrests.
