On January 28, 2013 in Ponchatoula, LA, a homeowner caught 20 year old Richard Falcon Stewart, Jr. wearing the homeowner's clothing and carrying a number of the homeowner's firearms. The homeowner ordered him to drop what he had, but Stewart said that he wasn't going back to jail and pulled a pistol out of his pocket and shot toward the homeowner. The homeowner had his own gun, and quickly shot Stewart in the buttocks, causing Stewart to drop everything he had and flee. A K-9 unit found him in the woods near the house shortly thereafter.

Stewart was booked on attempted second degree murder, aggravated burglary, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Go figure; a law that prevents felons from obtaining firearms didn't work and he had one anyway.

No one else was injured in the incident.
