Burglar Armed with Machete Shot by Homeowner with .22 Pistol

On January 23, 2013 around 4 pm in Transylvania, NC, a burglar entered a building on the homeowner's property, but the homeowner was already inside. The burglar brandished a machete and ordered the homeowner to give him money, but the homeowner pulled out his .22 caliber pistol and shot the burglar in the stomach with ratshot. The burglar immediately fled, getting into a van and driving away. Police are still looking for him.

No one else was injured in the altercation.
