On December 19, 2012 around 8:20 pm in Houston, TX, a man inside his apartment with his girlfriend and two year old child heard a loud noise outside his apartment. As he went to investigate, an armed intruder pushed his way through his door and into the apartment. Fearing for the safety of his girlfriend and the two year old, the resident shot and killed the intruder.
No one else was injured in the incident.
