On January 16, 2013 around 11:40 am in Atlanta, GA, a responsibly armed citizen, seeing two men burglarizing his neighbor's home, called the police and then crossed the street to confront them. He ordered them to the ground, firing one warning shot when one wouldn't comply. One of the burglars started approaching the man, who fired another shot, striking that man in the leg and putting him down.
Police arrived and arrested the two burglars before one was transported to a local hospital. The two burglars, Nicholas Lewis, 21, and Nicholas Gallaspy, 19, have been charged with burglary and a laptop and iPad from the neighbor's home was found on them when police arrived.
