Homeowner with Gun Shoots Burglar Armed with Shovel

Around 9 pm on January 15, 2013 in Philadelphia  PA, a man was home when he heard someone break into his house through his kitchen door. The homeowner armed himself and stood at the top of the stairs as the burglar attempted to make his way up to the second floor, armed with a spade shovel. The homeowner shot him three times in the chest and ended the burglary.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the incident.
