On January 9, 2013 around 8:30 pm in Dallas, TX, a 36 year old intruder tried to break into a third floor apartment while armed with a handgun while an accomplice waited outside. The homeowner confronted him, however, with a gun of his own, and shot him several times in the upper body, killing him on the spot. The accomplice, as usual, fled as soon as shots rang out.

No one else was injured in the incident. The case is being forwarded to a grand jury to determine whether or not charges should be brought against the homeowner.

Interestingly, police seized marijuana and large amounts of cash from the apartment as well. This fits well with my theory on the war on drugs artificially inflating the price of drugs and incentivizing violence.
