On January 30, 2013 around 4:30 pm in Everett, WA, a 48 year old man was chasing a woman down the street wielding a knife and threatening to kill the woman. A 61 year old man who witnessed the event had a legally concealed handgun on his person, which he withdrew and ordered the man to stop. When he didn't stop (probably because he was too focused on chasing her to see the pistol) the man with the handgun fired one shot into the air. That got the attacker's attention, who immediately stop and complied with orders. The woman continued to flee, but the attacker was detained for police to arrest later.

When police arrived, the attacker was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon. No criminal charges are expected against the man who saved the fleeing woman and no one was injured in the incident.

Just another life saved by a responsible citizen with a concealed handgun.
