Around 9 pm on February 10, 2013 in Summertown, TN, 72 year old Flora Armstreet got a phone call from a concerned friend who reported a car parked near her business, a local flea market, past normal business hours with two young men in it. Armstreet says that she initially just thought that the car was broken down and they might need assistance. But when she peered at them from the back door of her flea market, she could see that they weren't broken down at all. They were parked right across from a Dollar General, a franchise whose area stores had been victimized by multiple armed robberies in the past few months.

So Armstreet called police and then took out her legally concealed weapon, a .22 caliber revolver, and told the two men to stay put. When one began advancing towards her, she pointed the gun at him and told him to "Back up. Back up. You're staring at the business end of a gun."

Police arrived and arrested Travis Carter, 21, and Freddie Currie, 21, and charged them with attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of a weapon. They are still investigating the connection between the two men and the other robberies, but they say that they are wearing similar clothing to that reported in the other robberies and all the other Dollar General robberies also occurred on Sunday night.

Armstreet has an extremely mature view on the purpose of having a gun for self-defense; even though she had never used it before and hopes to never have to use it again, she says "If you pull a gun, you better be ready to use it or it will get you killed."
