Just after 6 pm on February 5, 2013 in Philadelphia, PA, an armed robber walked into Anna's Deli, pointed his gun at Anna Jukic, the owner, and demanded money. Anna started screaming, which caught the attention of her husband John, 55, who came from the back with his gun and confronted the robber. Shots were exchanged between the two and the robber, a 19 year old unidentified man, was shot dead with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
No one else was injured in the incident.
