On January 21, 2012 around 1:15 am in Spartanburg, SC, 19 year old Dante Lamont Williams entered a Waffle House with an accomplice, armed and masked, and attempted to rob the restaurant. The two men began ordering employees to the back and for customers to get on the floor. The concealed weapon permit holder waited to see if the whole thing would play out without anyone getting hurt, but when Williams started waving his gun around and pointing it at customers and employees, he pulled out his .45 caliber handgun, pointed it at Williams and ordered him to drop his weapon and wait for deputies to arrive. Williams, however, started to swing his own gun at the concealed carry holder, who was forced to shoot him in the chest and head.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. His accomplice immediately fled. No one else was injured in the incident and there was no "shootout" as gun-control advocates would like everyone to believe occurs whenever a "good guy" confronts a "bad guy" while they're both armed.

The sheriff will not charge the concealed weapon holder, saying that "The way you get shot by a concealed weapons permit holder is you point a gun at him."
