Security footage captures the robber fleeing after the clerk
pulled his legally concealed handgun

On November 13, 2012 while working the overnight shift at a convenience store in Johnstown, OH, Tom Green (no relation to this Tom Green), who has held a concealed carry permit for a year and a half, was forced to use it when a man walked into this convenience store with a stocking over his head. Security cameras captured the man walking in, placing his hands in the pocket of his hoodie and demanded money from the clerk, claiming that he "wasn't playing." Green was forced to make a split second decision and he decided to draw his pistol on the robber. The cameras then caught the robber fleeing for his life out of the store. Green did not even have to pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what Shell, the company that owns the convenience store, did when they reviewed the security footage. Company policy prohibits employees from carrying a weapon on the premises  Green wasn't that surprised that he was fired; he says that he did know what the policy was. But he doesn't regret his decision, claiming that you only get one life, but you can get another job.
