Around 9 pm on February 7, 2013 in Detroit, MI, two 59 year old utility workers were trying to fix a public lighting pole when they were approached by two teenagers, who produced a gun and demanded their money. One of the utility workers, however, has a legal concealed carry license, or concealed pistol license (CPL) in Michigan. Fearing for his safety and that of the man he was with, he produced his own handgun and shot both of the robbers, ending the incident.

Both of the robbers are expected to live and face charges. No one else was injured in the incident.
