Around 9:40 pm on February 4, 2013 in Houston, TX, a homeowner and his wife were in their guest house when they heard a noise in the backyard. Going out to investigate, the homeowner found a would-be burglar hiding in the back of his pickup truck. The suspect had jumped a fence and had tried to break into the guest house before he tried to hide from the homeowner. The homeowner told him to stay put and wait for police, but the would-be burglar tried to charge the homeowner, who fired two shots, hitting him in the arm and leg (for what it's worth, his accuracy is a lot higher than the historical accuracy average of police officers, which hovers around 40%).

Police arrived and arrested the man, who had decided to hide UNDER the truck after being shot, and charged him with burglary. No one else was injured in the incident.
