Three Armed Men Burst into Home; Homeowner's Son Kills One and the Other Two Flee

Around 9 pm on February 21, 2013 in Houston, TX, three young men knocked on the door of a residential home. The homeowner looked out his peephole and seeing them, believed they were friends of his son. When he started to open the door for them, one shoved a pistol in the homeowner's face while the other two barged into the home. Another intruder carried a shotgun.

The homeowner yelled for his son to grab the gun; his wife was in the kitchen. As the son dashed toward the bedroom, one of the intruders followed after him while the other two intruders began duct taping the homeowner's hands together. The son reached his gun and turned, firing three shots at the intruder chasing him, hitting him. As soon as they heard gunfire, the other two burglars immediately fled the home. The other intruder died at the scene.

No one else was injured by the gunfire.
