Around 4:30 am on February 9, 2013 in East Ridge, TN, a homeowner awoke to the sound of George Miles crawling through the bedroom window while screaming, "I'm going to kill you." Miles was the ex-boyfriend of the homeowner. The victim had already called police to report an altercation they were in earlier in the day at a Wal-Mart, where Miles told the victim that he was going to come to the victim's home and kill him.
Apparently, police didn't take the treat seriously. When Miles began crawling through the victim's window at 4:30 in the morning yelling death threats, the victim had good reason to fear for his safety and shot Miles while he was coming through the window in the upper torso.
Miles was taken to a local hospital and charges are currently pending against him.
