Off-Duty Deputy Shoots and Kills Burglar

Around 10:50 pm on February 12, 2013 in Fort Washington, MD, a man, who also happens to be a deputy sheriff, returned to his home to find the front door damaged. When he entered the home, he confronted one of the possible 2-3 intruders inside the home. The homeowner shot the burglar, later identified as 20 year old Jon Adgrain Pocknett, who fled the scene and collapsed outside and was pronounced dead when police finally arrived. No one else was found in the house; the other burglars fled when they heard gunshots.

No one else was injured by the gunfire. The homeowner will not be charged.
