Around 10:30 pm on February 6, 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL, 20 year old Deltonia Clary Jr. attempted to rob 20 year old Shawn Enwright at an apartment complex. Witnesses say that Clary shot at Enwright during the robbery, prompting Enwright to pull his gun and defend himself. The two exchanged gunfire and were both injured, but taken to the hospital and are expected to survive. Clary, however, will be arrested and charged with armed robbery and attempted homicide as soon as he is released from the hospital. While many security experts will caution victims of robbery to simply comply with a robber's demands and not try to fight back, it is still common for an armed robber to shoot or otherwise injure his victim even when he or she does comply with all instructions. At that point, fighting back and getting wounded with a chance of dying is a lot more preferable to dying on your knees without a chance. That's what seems to have happened in this case and it's probably a good thing the victim was armed, otherwise we may have been reading about just another homicide. Source
