Woman Shoots Man Attacking Her and Her Sister

Around 3:30 am on February 10, 2013 in Highland, IL, a woman stepped outside her apartment to have a cigarette. When she did, a 33 year old man forced his way inside, where the woman and her sister, aged 47 and 55 live. The man began assaulting the two women and trying to rob them. After multiple pleas for the man to leave was only met with more violence, one of the sisters pulled a revolver out of a living room drawer and shot their attacker multiple times.

The unidentified subject was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The two sisters were treated for minor injuries that resulted from his assault. No one else was injured by the firing of the gun.
