Around 10:30 am on February 2, 2013 in Villa Rica, GA, a woman returned to her home after her alarm company called to tell her that her alarm had been tripped twice. When she began to check her home, she found one man crouching in the woods nearby and two near her back door, one of whom was carrying a gun. The woman shot (it is unclear whether she was shooting at the burglars or just shooting a warning shot) and created panic and confusion among the burglars, who dropped what they had been carrying (including their gun) as some ran out of the house and one actually ran back in.

In the confusion and hurry, police were able to catch four teenagers and link them back to the crime scene, arresting Travis Clifford Goolsby, 19; Joseph Brady Cook, 19; Austin Wayne Priest, 17; and Tony Chase McGuire, 17, charging them with burglary. Three of the four were also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

No one was injured by any of the gunshots that were fired.
