80 Year Old Homeowner Uses Shotgun to Stop Burglar

Around 1 am on February 16, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO, a man was trying to break into the home of an 87 year old victim and his 80 year old wife. What began as pounding and yelling turned into the intruder taking running charges at the door in an attempt to break it down. The homeowner warned the intruder verbally to stop before he secured his shotgun and fired one round through the front door, but the pellets passed above the intruder's head. When police arrived, they found the intruder on the front porch.

No one was injured in the incident.
