On February 1, 2013 around 10:20 am in Fort Wayne, IN, a homeowner discovered a burglar inside his house armed with a pistol. The homeowner opened fire on the armed burglar with several shots, causing the burglar to immediately flee the house on foot without any resistance. It is unclear whether or not the burglar was hit; however, the important takeaway is that the homeowner was not injured, nor was any innocent bystander struck by any of the gunfire, contrary to what gun control advocates say happens every time two people with a gun square off against each other.

The homeowner will not be charged with a crime since he was defending himself and his property according to Indiana law.
