Man Stops Three Home Burglars with Handgun

On December 28, 2012 in Darlington, SC, a burglary suspect kicked in the back door of a home, but failed. The homeowner woke up to the sound, grabbed his gun, and was waiting as the suspect successfully kicked in the front door. The victim shot at the suspect, striking him in the leg and buttocks and causing him to run from the house and get into a black SUV. The resident called 911 to report the break-in, shooting, and a description of the getaway car, which deputies used to apprehend three men, one of who had gunshot wounds. Two were arrested while one was taken to the local hospital under guard.

No charges were filed against the homeowner.
