In the evening of December 31, 2012 in Omaha, NE, 49 year old Michael Robinson broke into a family's home. The homeowner grabbed his gun and fired a warning shot, scaring Robinson off immediately. Police used a K-9 unit to track him down and arrested him for burglary and meth possession.

According to police, the homeowner had the right to shoot the burglar. This is one instance of a responsible firearm owner who used the minimum necessary force to protect himself, his family, and his property, even though he was authorized more. So much for that gun control argument that people with guns will inevitably shoot each other over the smallest conflicts or misunderstandings.
