On January 7, 2012 around 10 pm in Colorado Springs, CO, Al Michaud was in his home when three men broke into his home. Michaud struggled with the suspects until he was able to secure his handgun and shoot one man in the chest, another in the leg, before the three stumbled out of his house in retreat. They made it about one block before stopping due to injuries, where they were found by police and taken to a local hospital. The uninjured man kept going, ditching his buddies while they were bleeding on the sidewalk.
The homeowner was not injured in the shooting, nor was anyone else who didn't deserve to be hurt.
