Concealed Handgun Owner Shoots His Way Out of Robbery Trap

On November 9, 2012 in Sapulpa, OK, Brittany Sue Carter, 18, lead Jose Cruz, 28, back to her hotel room for his "lucky night." This isn't something out of the ordinary to see or hear about on a Friday night in the United States. What happened next, however, was quite unexpected.

As soon as the two walked into the hotel room, three men confronted him. One pulled out a gun and demanded money. Unbeknownst to them, Cruz was also carrying a legally permitted concealed handgun. He pulled it out and shot two of the men before leaving the room. They were taken to a local hospital by their other two accomplices, but their injuries were not life-threatening. No one else was injured in the incident. There are pending charges against the four would-be robbers but no charges pending against Cruz.
