Description of Good Guy(s): | Jane Rainboth, who was asleep, was awakened by the sound of her dog barking. She then saw Stuart in her bedroom, grabbed her son's toy gun and yelled, "I have a gun," causing Stuart to take off running | ||||

Outcome: | Stuart was captured by the police after they set up a blockade around the neighborhood. While this helps prove that criminals are afraid of armed homeowners, it can actually be even more dangerous to threaten that you have a gun when you don't; if Stuart had been armed, he may not have had any intention of shooting her until she claimed to be armed as well. | ||||
