Description of Bad Guy(s): | David Allan Curry, 23, armed, broke into a closed convenience store | ||||
Description of Good Guy(s): | Jonathan T. Hawthorne, owner of the convenience store who received a call from the alarm company, notified the police, and then drove to his business. While the deputy was checking the front, Hawthorne went around to the back and caught Curry coming out the back door. He told him to freeze, but Curry raised his gun at Hawthorne, prompting Hawthorne to shoot him twice, once in the foot and once in the thigh | ||||

Outcome: | Curry escaped on foot, but was arrested for armed burglary, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief when he went to a hospital for treatment. No one else was injured by the gunfire. Hawthorne is not facing any charges. | ||||
