Crime Prevented: | Home Invasion, Burglary
Description of Bad Guy(s): | Unidentified Home Intruder, 50s, who had broken into the home of a Buffalo Police Officer
Description of Good Guy(s): | Unnamed Buffalo Police Officer, who returned home, off-duty, confronted the intruder, and shot him
Type of Gun Used: | Hand Gun
Outcome: | The intruder was killed. No one else was injured by the gunfire. The officer was off-duty at the time and placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard for all officer-related shootings. There is no indication that he will be charged with any crime. Out of curiousity, I wonder how many rounds he had to use and whether it was his service pistol or a personal weapon in the state the limits the number of rounds that your personal gun can hold.
