It might be more effective to outlaw knives than rifles, especially considering that the "military style" rifles that Senator Feinstein hates so much account for an even smaller percentage yet of the "Rifle Murders." But that seems like a pretty hard task and many many people legally use knives in hundreds of different ways every day.
We could outlaw all blunt objects, but then it would be particularly difficult to build a house without a hammer and baseball is America's past time, right?
Hey, there's the best plan: let's cut off our hands and feet, which by themselves account for more than twice as many murders every year than all the rifles in the country combined!
