Every once in a while, I come across a story that's so perfect, it makes me giddy. This story has it all. The gun used: an AR-15, the most reviled gun in America among the gun-grabber population; the good guy: an Iraq War Veteran; the outcome: bad guys captured with no shots being fired. I know there are some out there who like to cheer when the bad guys get shot or killed. Most people who do that have never had to kill before or clean up the mess. I'm not saying that it's better to be beaten, raped or murdered, but if you can end the crime without having to kill someone, then the desired effect was still achieved.

On top of all that, the fact that this responsible gun owner used an AR-15 and didn't fire a single shot helps debunk they myth that gun owners are trigger happy vigilante wannabes. Imagine the discipline and maturity it required to be in a stressful and fearful situation and still keep your wits about you enough to determine that the robbers were not an immediate threat to you and you didn't have to shoot.

Well done, Mr. Schank
