Description of Bad Guy(s): | James Darnell Latimer, 29, burst into a home with two other men. All three wore masks and Latimer, at least, had a shotgun. They went upstairs to the homeowner's bedroom, where a confrontation broke out and Latimer shot a round at the homeowner | ||||
Description of Good Guy(s): | 24 year old homeowner who managed to avoid getting shot from the shotgun blast and grabbed his own handgun, returning fire and striking Latimer in the forearm, causing all three invaders to flee | ||||

Outcome: | Latimer was arrested when he checked himself into a D.C. hospital seeking treatment for his gunshot wound. The other two suspects are being pursued by police. No one else was injured by the gunfire. The homeowner has not been charged with any crime. Good luck to any unarmed person in that situation if they want to stay alive. | ||||
