Description of Bad Guy(s):
  Marc Gumpert, 43, entered a pharmacy and demanded Ritalin and Dilaudid
Description of Good Guy(s):
 34 year old pharmacist who complied, but followed him outside to get his license plate number, description of the vehicle, and direction of travel. Gumpert saw him and got back out of his car, pulled a knife, and started advancing toward the pharmacist, who pulled out his concealed handgun and fired one round toward Gumpert, who jumped back into his car and sped away

Outcome:
 The bullet hit the ground and struck the back tire of Gumpert's car, which made it much easier for police to catch and identify him. He was arrested a short time later without incident. No one was injured by the gunfire. The pharmacist was not charged with any crime.
