Description of Bad Guy(s): | Two armed robbers wearing masks and armed with a rifle and crowbar entered a jewelry store and attempted to rob it | ||||
Description of Good Guy(s): | One of the store owners, who saw the men enter, grabbed his handgun, and opened fire on the robbers. They immediately turned and fled, firing a few shots in retreat | ||||

Outcome: | One of the robbers was found hiding in a yard a block away and the police recovered the rifle used. No one was injured by the gunfire, although the store owner had minor scrapes from some shrapnel. The store owner was not charged with any crime | ||||

The jewelry store has been open for 37 years and this is the first time that there's been a robbery attempt. Regardless, the owners still maintained the ability to protect themselves, their employees, their customers, and their property and I'm willing to bet that even though they may have had doubts that they were ever going to have to use that gun, today they're really glad they had it when they did.
